Wardrobe Essentials You Need This Summer

With summer around the corner, it’s the perfect time to give your wardrobe an update. It’s time to ditch the jumpers and roll necks and make room for all the essential pieces you need this summer.

With the trends always changing, it’s important to ensure you have the essentials covered in your wardrobe to put together staple outfits. Having these also makes it easier to put an outfit together when you have “nothing to wear”. This article outlines 5 wardrobe essentials you need this summer. I’ve covered everything from tops to shoes so you can have the perfect summer wardrobe.

White shirt

A white shirt is a staple piece for any wardrobe that never goes out of style and is really easy to wear with any outfit. It’s the perfect go-to when you have “nothing to wear”. A white shirt is extremely versatile and can be dressed up or down for any occasion. If you want to keep it casual, pair it with some jeans and trainers for a great daytime look. If you want to dress it up, pair it with a nice skirt and some heels.

You can also adapt a white shirt to act as a shacket for when there’s a light breeze. Simply wear your shirt unbuttoned over a nice outfit to give you an extra layer of warmth without having to wear a heavy-duty jacket.

Pastel colours

Pastel colours are everywhere this summer, making them essential to your wardrobe. Utilising pastel colours is a great way to introduce colour into your wardrobe in a subtle way. They are also very versatile and can be paired with almost any trousers, skirts or shorts.

Sketch and Stitch Embroidery offer great embroidered pieces in multiple colours, including pastels. They also allow you to personalise your clothing to make it your own. This is a great way to showcase your personal style through your clothing.

Denim jacket

Denim jackets are essential for a summer wardrobe and great for any occasion. You can pair them with jeans, shorts, skirts and dresses to bring any outfit together. You can acquire denim jackets from any clothing store this time of year, giving you a wide range of jackets to choose from.

Not only are they a great styling piece, but they are also extremely practical when the temperature starts to drop in the evening and you need something to keep you warm.

Wide leg trousers

One item that has definitely made a comeback this year is wide-leg trousers. Although many of us would opt for shorts in the hot weather, wide-leg trousers are great for those who get cold easily or for the days when it’s particularly breezy outside.

They are also great to keep you at the perfect temperature when it’s too cold for shorts but you don’t want to wear skinny jeans as they are quite airy.

Sandals

With the hot weather around the corner, it’s time to ditch your trainers and get your sandals out. Sandals are great for this time of year to keep your feet nice and cool in a comfy pair of shoes. You can also wear them for all occasions.

If you want to wear your sandals on a daily basis then I’d suggest opting for a flat pair that will be comfy all day and go with any outfit. Heeled sandals are great for the evenings when you want to dress up to go out. They are usually a comfier alternative to heels as you can get platform or wedged sandals rather than walking on stilettos the whole evening.

Time to get your summer wardrobe ready

Now that I have covered my essential items for a summer wardrobe, it’s time to get yours ready. Not only will these essential pieces have you covered for any event, but they will also keep you on-trend this summer.

Don’t forget to bring your wardrobe to life this summer with pastel colours. Don’t be afraid to explore the use of colours in your outfits this summer, starting slow with pastels is a great way to introduce colour if it isn’t your usual go-to.
