According to a poll conducted by the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Canada, approximately 67% of Canadians have attempted to lose weight over the past five years but have not been able to keep up with it.

Furthermore, the survey also showed that only around 17% of those who were overweight were able to lose at least 5 pounds and keep it away for a period of 5 years.
